M

Per instructions by your tech support representative, I am posting this suggestion here:

If possible, please provide the Bitsgap Server’s(s’) public IP address(es) for whitelisting in the exchange’s API settings.

Details:
Currently, my exchange’s API has an “IP Whitelist” field that is blank (no entries in it).
This would allow any computer, with any IP address, from anywhere in the world, to be able to communicate with the exchange’s API using the 2 API Keys.
This is mainly for convenience, so, in case Bitsgap changes the IP address of their Server(s), those Bitsgap Server(s) can still continue to communicate with the exchange, using the 2 API keys.

There are 3 parties involved here, and the 2 API keys are stored in 3 differrent locations:

  • The user’s computer(s)
  • The Bitsgap’s Server(s)
  • The exchanges Server(s)

In a very simplified example scenario:
If a 4th party (for example, a hacker) somehow gains access to those 2 API keys from either of the above 3 computer, that 4th party might potentially be able to access the exchange’s API, and the user’s money.

Adding the specific IP address(es) of Bitsgap’s Server(s) into the exchange’s API might add an extra layer of security for access and communication between Bistgap and the exchange’s Server(s).

Thanks.
