Currently all the higher grids are filled with a LIMIT order at the grid level. When opening a grid bot on a pair without very deep liquidity…this means we are essentially market ordering into the pair for the initial buy.
I had been confused as to why I was always starting at a fairly significant loss on most bots. I finally figured out it was because you were essentially market ordering into the pair. We should be able to set a MAX price limit for the initial buy OR a percentage like no more that 0.5% over current traded price.
Looking back now I realize the way this performs on opening has cost by quite a bit of money. You make it back on the bot over time, but there is not reason to suffer like this initially.
